Historic Seattle Fireboat Duwamish

The Duwamish is a historic fireboat, the 2nd oldest still in existence in the United States. The Hellenic Archaeological Society, in partnership with industry partners Ilios Remote Sensing and Norsk Remote Sensing, are conducting a thorough laser scan of the entire ship that is available (until the ship is drydocked, it is not possible to scan the hull).

To give an idea of what kind of multimedia assets are to be generated, to the right is what is called a fly-through of one of the power generators to see different aspects of the object.

By creating a full 3D laser scan of the ship, the HAES hopes that this data will be helpful in acquiring grants for the restoration of the ship, hopefully to one day have all water cannons spraying at the same time.
