We have a major development in that the HAES NGO has purchased the most sophisticated laser scanner in its class, the PL3200UW-LW from Newton Labs.
This laser scanner is capable of reaching depths of 3200 meters. The deepest point in the Aegean Sea is slightly more than 300 meters deeper, so this laser scanner is capable of scanning objects in 99% of the Aegean Sea.
We are excited to use this laser scanner for the first time in an archaeological project in September of this year.

Προς τους φίλους μας που ενδιαφέρονται για τη θαλάσσια αρχαιολογία στην Ελλάδα,
Έχουμε μια σημαντική εξέλιξη στο ότι η NGO EAEK αγόρασε τον πιο εξελιγμένο σαρωτή λέιζερ στην κατηγορία του, τον PL3200UW-LW από τη Newton Labs.
Αυτός ο σαρωτής λέιζερ μπορεί να φτάσει σε βάθη 3200 μέτρων. Το βαθύτερο σημείο στο Αιγαίο Πέλαγος είναι λίγο περισσότερο από 300 μέτρα βαθύτερο, επομένως αυτός ο σαρωτής λέιζερ είναι ικανός να σαρώσει αντικείμενα στο 99% του Αιγαίου Πελάγους.
Είμαστε ενθουσιασμένοι που χρησιμοποιούμε αυτόν τον σαρωτή λέιζερ για πρώτη φορά σε ένα αρχαιολογικό έργο τον Σεπτέμβριο του τρέχοντος έτους.
